Connecting Europe Facility 2022

Within the framework of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) 2022 call, the European Commission signed the Grant Agreement for the project “bridging missing links between france & spain: studies for rehabilitating the cross-border railway section pau–zaragoza”.

Main objective:

advanced studies to further pave the way for work on the Bedous-Canfranc-Zaragoza section;
necessary studies for the reopening of the railway line;
studies for the declaration of Public Utility in France;
studies concerning the Somport Tunnel;
studies concerning access to the PLAZA logistics platform and the remodeling of Zaragoza’s railway network.

Total cost: €17,901,998.00.
MCE financing: €8,900,999.00.

WP1: Project management
WP2: Project communication and dissemination
WP3: Studies required for the declaration of public utility in France
WP4: Functional studies to remodel the local rail network in Zaragoza in order to prepare for the new rail traffic generated by the Global Project.
WP5: Drafting of the detailed design of the signaling and communication facilities (CMS of the Somport railway tunnel).
WP6: Drafting of the construction project for the access to the PLAZA logistics platform.
