The deployment of the AAFFs is part of the set of actions that ADIF has in place to increase rail freight transport in Spain, in line with its Strategic Plan 2030, the Safe, Sustainable and Connected Mobility Strategy 2030 whose vision is “to make mobility a right, an element of social cohesion and economic growth” approved in December 2021.

With a 2030 horizon, this strategy, together with the Spanish Urban Agenda, will be the basis for the mobility policies of the MTMS over the next 10 years.

In addition, in May 2022 and in line with the proposals established in the aforementioned Axis 6 of the Strategy, the Mercancías 30 initiative will be launched, with the aim of promoting rail freight transport as the backbone of multimodal logistics chains.
